Lizard friends

Hi everyone!

Today was an exciting day because one of our students brought in 2 lizards for us to observe! We discovered they liked grasshoppers so at recess we caught some for them to eat, however they were not hungry.

Their names are Freddy and Fredrick!

Flashcards: go through flash cards and create 2 piles. The pile on the left are the cards you get incorrect, and the pile on the right are cards you get correct. Continue going through the cards on the left side until they all can be moved to the right side.

Reading with your child

Read aloud to your child some nights
Read books to your child that are too challenging for them to read on their own.
Talk about what you or they are reading
Point out figurative language (similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia ect)
Ask your child how the characteristics of the characters change throughout the story
Ask your child to: predict, summarize, and explain why something happened or someone did something.
